Senior Technical Project Manager

Location: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $90,000-$130,000/year 

Position Overview

Oliver Project Solutions is looking to hire a Senior Technical Project Manager. The individual in this position will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of our clients technical projects. They will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects, as well as overall account management, ensuring each engagement is completed on time and within scope and budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certification in project management is a plus. Undergraduate degree may be substituted for 3 additional years of TPM experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with experience that can be spoken to.
  • Exceptional knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Scrum certification from reputable organization (required)
  • Certifications: PMP, CAPM, PgMP, PMI – PBA, CSM, PSM, PSPO (preferred)
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with government entities – ability and willingness to gain security clearance.
  • Thorough understanding of of SDLC
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Jira, Notion, Wrike.

Responsibiities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining the scope, timeline, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and milestones.
  • Effectively manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, facilitating their professional development.

Executive Leadership Communication:

  • Maintain frequent, thorough, and detailed updates of project status to internal leadership.
  • Communicate project objectives, status, and key milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations and address concerns proactively, ensuring a high level of stakeholder satisfaction.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize project efficiency.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.

Expanding Accounts

  • While this is not a sales roles, the individual will need to be comfortable thinking through and asking existing clients for more work.
  • Maintaining a “Next Phase” log of additional work that can be completed for our clients.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Generate and distribute regular project status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and post-project reports.
