Business Development Associate

Location: Denver, Colorado (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $50,000-$80,000/year 

Position Overview

Oliver Project Solutions is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our team. This is a new role and this individual will play a key role in driving the growth of our business by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for researching new business channels, familiarizing yourself with potential clients, building relationships, and contributing to the overall sales strategy. This individual will be responsible for becoming an expert on the identification, application and pursuit of various technical project management contracts.  The ideal candidate is hungry to get out and see the results of their hard work (aka a self-starter).  This individual should posses strong communication skills, exceptional research capabilities, and an interest in building lasting business connections. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. This may be substituted for three years of relevant professional experience. 
  • Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Drive to set goals and meet those goals. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with experience that can be spoken to.
  • Familiarity with the following certifications: PMP, CAPM, PgMP, PMI – PBA, CSM, PSM, PSPO.
  • Commitment to acquiring proficiency in project management best practices, comprehending project artifacts, and gaining insight into prevalent project challenges.
  • Thorough understanding of SDLC. 
  • Extensive background in collaborating with government entities, possessing a comprehensive grasp of the procedures essential for acquiring and sustaining security clearance.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to push yourself out of your comfort zone to grow professionally. 


  1. Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.

  2. Lead Generation: Identify and qualify leads through various channels, including online research, networking events, and outreach campaigns.

  3. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring satisfaction with our products/services.

  4. Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the company leadership to develop and implement effective sales strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.

  5. Proposal Development: Assist in the creation of compelling proposals and presentations for potential clients, highlighting the unique value proposition of our products/services.

  6. Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to represent the company and establish connections with potential clients and partners.

  7. Sales Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, lead generation efforts, and market trends to the management team.
